As a part of becoming an indie marketer; I have to automate my current businesses and liabilities as much as I could.
As the first order of business. I implemented various different processes in my design agency to automate various different tasks. And, results are pouring in and it appears I’m getting success in it.
Here’s a screenshot of my Rescue Time dashboard before implementing processes in my design agency:

And, here’s the screenshot after implementing my newly constructed systems and processes for my design agency:

I have cut down my weekly working hours from an average of 50h/week to 33h/week or less while retaining the same revenue and same productivity.
It wouldn’t have been possible if I wouldn’t have automated micro-tasks on the internet with the help of Zapier.
Automating micro-tasks with Zapier
Zapier is a service that allows you to automate micro-tasks on the internet. You set it up once and it keeps on doing the work for you without you even looking at it.
You can connect various different apps and services with Zapier. Automate actions of those apps and services. And, it will do the work for you.
An example of automation with Zapier:
I have connected Gmail, Google Sheets and Trello with Zapier. ⤵️
An email is sent to me on Gmail whenever I receive a new order on Fiverr. Zapier collects the important data from that email and records it on a Google Sheet. ⤵️
Zapier then triggers Trello to create a Trello Card from the data available in Google Sheet.
From that point, my project managers can populate the Trello card and assign it to the appropriate person on my team so they can start working on it.
There are ton of intergenerations and ton of automations, both linear and in a flow, that you can do with Zapier.
Hi,
Thanks for publishing this. In a future blog, could you please provide a run down of all the things that you do with Zapier in addition to the example mentioned above.
Honestly, they are not that interesting. They are super simple which saves me a couple of minutes per day. For instance, I have another automation set up where I receive a Slack notification whenever a Trello card is moved to a specific List on a Trello Board by a team member. It does 2 things: record the activity level of a team member for monthly evaluation + notify project managers that a specific project is ready to review and deliver to the client.
